United EC is an electric distribution cooperative serving more than 18,000 members in 10 west-central Pennsylvania counties (Armstrong, Cambria, Centre, Clarion, Clearfield, Clinton, Elk, Forest, Indiana and Jefferson). United Electric was formed on Oct. 27, 1966, from the consolidation of Jefferson Electric Cooperative (Jeffco) and Clearfield Electric Cooperative. This is the only consolidation of Pennsylvania cooperatives to date.
